At first sight, the Academic World might seem far away from the Traditional Crafts World, but at Kyoto University, we have recently been proven the opposite. Without realizing it, reseachers and craftspeople share a same mindset: an innovative spirit that emerges from multiple tries and retries. With this initiatitive, we would like to invite craftsmen to share their experiences and knowledge and engage in collaborative research with researchers, hoping to demonstrate that these collaborations can generate new ides that support Traditional Craftspeople. We would be very pleased to hear from you if you are in the following cases:
